Innsbruck airport has something special with its location. Then over the Alps to Milan, from there to Nice and always along the coast of the Mediterranean is something different. On the final approach I was quite fast and a bit high, but that can be sorted out quickly in the DHC 7.

Nothing could be seen of Milan under the cloud cover. Here on the coast of the Mediterranean we are currently flying over Nice and then flying along the Côte d’Azur towards our destination Marseille Provence.

This is of course a trip back to the 80s. Regional aircraft as turboprops have become rarities. Even Air Baltic has replaced its proven and inexpensive DASH 8Q 400 with the Airbus A 220, which was actually a Bombardier project in Canada and was bought by Airbus after financial difficulties.
But with skyrocketing oil prices, the threat of war in the Middle East and OPEC+ collusion, things could change. Let's wait.
These routes are currently flown with the Boeing 737-800 or the A321.
