AFS4 Japan by SchnuffelDuffel

Postby emfrat » Sat Feb 03, 2024 5:34 pm

Community dev SchnuffelDuffel has hand-repainted almost every tile of the AFS4 default Japan. That's a mountain of work :D
I took a quick run from old Haneda to Shizuoka - I know that's where I was because it says so on the airfield

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Pretty much, except some small/uninhabited islands

It's a huge d/load 80-90GB, but worth the effort. Of course with all those buildings to be refreshed 30 times a second, my 4GB graphics card struggles, but if I avoid panoramic shots and stay within the cockpit, that reduces the number of items in sight and flying things stay smooth. It was amusing to see the fps steadily improving from single figures up to the high 80/90s as I moved out from the cities to more open country. Lots of exploring to be done. Did you notice the rivers are braided, just like NZ?

Cheers Mike.....Japan is similar to NZ in few ways, except for the size of their cities.

And how did he get here? Haneda is a small step for a 787, a giant leap for a A320
