Orlando International Airport (KMCO) - North Eleuthera Airport (MYEH)

After the action in Alaska I wanted something a little more comfortable, with good weather and no icing. I hadn't visited Orlando airport much in recent years. I was told that here is always freight from Florida to the Bahamas, but there are also lots of interesting routes to Central and South America and the Caribbean. By the way, one of the first computer games on my computer was aft der MSFS 4, "Pirates" by the legendary Sid Meier. Those were the days... This may be one of the reasons why I still enjoy flying there. I've only been to the region once, in the Dominican Republic. It was my first trip with the German passport after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Great screenshots and very impressive Caribbean water textures.

Can you post here your flight plan with specific waypoints for your impressive flight please?

Regards,

Aharon

I will do it tomorrow. Promised. I'm now at the evening situation in Ukraine and asking my relatives.

That's a pretty cool flight. How is it holding up after all of the sim updates and everything. Does it still behave? Does the multi crew aspect work as it should? I'd hate to spend that much money on something that PMDG have abandoned. I love the DC-6 but I'm not sure what I'd do with it given the type of simming that I do.

@Aharon

Firstly, sorry for the delay. I haven't forgotten it, I'm working on my tax return.

KMCO+MLB+ZFB+ZQA+MYEH

Possibly not correct, but, this is the VFR flight plan "out of the box" as generated by the MSFS using the "VOR to VOR" option. Certainly, one might think that this would be more of a low altitude instrument flight rules (IFR) flight. In reality, there were cargo flights to the Bahamas until the 1990s, which were VFR flights with aircraft like this Douglas DC 6A, which, as far as Miami is concerned, from Miami Opa Locka. The cruising altitude was 15,500 ft. This is low for a pressurized aircraft, but the aircraft was well loaded and I wanted to conserve the engines.
As far as I understand there is no ILS in Eleuthera North. A solid asphalt runway is available with a length of 1,835 meters. Note: If you are coming from Nassau (MYNN), fly to the left of the long peninsula
Important in the area. Get a weather report on Nassau.

The aircraft is well maintained through the PMDG Operations Center
The current version is 2.0.51 The plane has been receiving updates since its release. You can't say it was abandoned.
In my opinion, the flight characteristics are what an old airplane like this should feel like. This version was purchased directly from PMDG, not from Market Place. I can't say anything about the "electronic multi-crew". That would have to be checked.

What can we say about this, Aharon? The world is smaller than we think.

I know they abandoned the product for XP which won them no fans. If I see it with a reasonable discount, I might get it.

Healthy attitude. I'm also waiting for a price that I like for the Justflight Fokker F. 28 Fellowship in MSFS 24. My MSFS 2020 has as much in it for add-ons as the annual fee at the country club around the corner. When it comes to the Microsofties' chatter about the "compatibility" of add-ons with its predecessor, I've paid too much money. I'm definitely too old for the number with the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus and as a German pensioner you start to do the math. The Ukraine is too expensive.
