What's the joke of this device?
Alexander Prokofiev De Seversky was an ethnic Russian. From today's perspective, the fact that the name of the company he founded was changed from Seversky to Republic and that he was thrown out of his own company does not seem illogical.
But he was then a popular author during World War II. This Disney film is based on one of his books.
