...I have a NZ Lama!
Great model, it does lots of things: Sprayboom/Carrier baskets/Sling loads
And never forget, it can go to 42,000ft :o

Now that would make a good "hedge-hopper" for me if I could get the bl**dy rotary things to do what I want!
Talking about Hedge-hopping for fun with small aircraft, I'm back to having fun again with my 2006 Microsoft FSX, with its wealth of free add-ons collected over many years...Aircraft, Scenery, etc...
...which we don't get with FS2020!.... :( ...!
FS2020 for realism...
...FSX for FUN!
Paul...UK.... :D ... :D ...!

I've been working alongside one of our Lamas here for the last four weeks or so. Very impressive bit of gear but my goodness they're loud. They make the 500 seem quiet.

They sure are. Up until my early teens i lived in Mangere Bridge, at the base of the mountain, on the Northern side. Boyce Barrow (who owned Marine Helicopters at the time) used to regularly fly his Lama to and from work. I used to love watching it take off and land. Nicky Barrow used to do the same with his 500 in the later years up until his untimely death due to a wire strike, if i recall correctly.

Thanks that confirms why I had to turn the volume down in the Sim!
It's a really well done model all round.
In the top left pic you can see the optional checkerboard cheeks atop the engine: these are "mufflers"

Yep, you're correct about all of that. The last one was Lakeview in Taupo which is now in the helicopter museum in Rangiora.

Lakeview's one had mufflers... it didn't do much I don't think. Ours have particle separators because that's far more important. Very impressive machine given its age. Airbus want them to disappear now.
