Despite all the grumps, its been an interesting journey...with more to come.
Over the weekend Ill look at the file thing you put me onto.
No way my old rig would have handled this (thanks again Adam)
I'm still not fussed on some of the clouds. I dialled up a full on storm, and got something akin to a mega volcanic eruption......all good, I'm mainly a fair weather flyer .

Though I've tried hard to stay loyal to REX, I've always found ActiveSky a much better product.

I've just installed the latest ActiveSky beta (in MSFS 2024). Works well - and produces some nice and subtle mist effects:
