Managed to do a bit of simming over the last few days. Got the mighty Hot Start Challenger 650 around Europe and back to the US. The route was CYYT - LPPT LPPT - LIRN LIRN - ENGM ENGM - KBOS - KPDX over four days. The Hot Start Challenger is, in my opinion, the most detailed, most immersive and most expensive aircraft ever for a simulator.

This set me off on some breakfast-time browsing.

Amazing to think this plane is the (developed) product of Bill Lear's fertile imagination, 50 years ago.

Interesting too, that the Dev would choose XP as the platform for a NZ$200 bird!
The graphics are good but not in MSFS league.
In my armchair pilot sim, the stock MS Citation X does the job.

But I guess for this one you'd be more focussed on knowing the turbine inlet temperature and so on (which functions the promotional clips are quick to point out, are all physics-based). I wish you Happy Immersive Flying!

You could easily do round trip out of Boston.

So, several things here. The developer, Hot Start, was developing long before msfs came out (TBM 900) and I really don't think that this level of detail could work easily with msfs. XP is dataref driven. Everything is measured and so all you need to do is tap into that. Black Square comes close but their King Air (the only product I own) was pretty disappointing I thought. The study panels are interesting but not really the reason that I use the Challenger. I feel that the way that the aircraft behaves in the world is far superior to anything else that I've ever experienced. It is a simulation not of the aeroplane, but of operating the aeroplane.

I bought the Challenger a few years back when the exchange rate was good so I certainly didn't pay $200.

The default Citation X is very good for a default aeroplane but the VNAV is a bit buggy (it's supposed to get fixed in the next update) and the FMS isn't quite functional enough for me. The reason that I jumped off from Newfoundland was because I'd never been there in the sim before. Nothing else
