Those are all great shots, they almost look like actual photos.
Quick question.. when was the BAe146 name dropped and replaced with RJ70..?

Thanks for looking, I think the RJ Designation just related to a cockpit (Avionics) upgrade.
I have a book on the type which may shed some light...will advise on when and why.

Opening cargo side of the passenger BAE146 Ansett New Zealand is AWESOME.
Too bad Quality Wings BAE146s for FSX do not have that operable cargo side door.

Aharon

Nice. Assume it's nice to fly, too?
I'm trying to think of a comparable modern aircraft, surely there's a market?
Questions, questions...

Everts just bought fleet of four BAE146-300QTs which is now in PAFA awaiting for FAA certificating.

Now I think about it, I flew on an Embraer 190 recently, and it was a totally painless experience.
It does with 2 motors what the 146 did with 4.
But there is no modern jet that can service Mount Cook.

E190 would just about do it wouldn't it? They fly them in/out of London City / EGLC
Love those things, also had a couple of legs IRL in the US in them a few years back, nice machine. Been buzzing around regional airports in the US in the Feelthere v3 in P3D recently

Yes BUT BUT E190 cannot handle rough or gravel or unpaved runways that BE146s and RJ jets can. That is why Evert bought four of this BAE jet.

Mt Cook is Paved, and has a PCN rating of 10/B so looks like the E190 would be OK there...

Yes but Charl was talking about in general, not just for NZMC.
If we are talking about NZMC, I think there are quite few jet airliners that can handle NZMC. One comes to my mind which is 737-800SFP (SFP stands for short field performance) as long as the passenger load factor is no more than 70 percent which is why Gol airline and Alaska airline bought some of those to deal with difficult airports.

Actually he was also specifically asking about Mt Cook and you specifically said the ERJ couldn't handle "rough or gravel or unpaved" surfaces ...

There's
a bit of history on this forum regarding NZMC.
Tell you what Aharon, now that you know how, run through all the jets in your sim and let us know how you go.
Remember you need to make money on the route, so empty aircraft don't count.
Predominant winds are NW 5kt
