Agricultural aviation was very important in eastern Germany, i.e. the GDR, as the state cooperatives had large areas to work on where the financial outlay was worthwhile. The same applied to fighting forest fires from the air, which was the responsibility of the air force at the time. Today in Germany, both types of aviation have gone to the dogs. We are currently experiencing a heatwave in Brandenburg. Today it will be 34 degrees Celsius + X here. France has fire-fighting airboats and agricultural aircraft can also be deployed quickly. In France, this is organized centrally. Here, it's a matter for the federal states, or would be better... but “there's no money for that either”.... Are agricultural aircraft and firefighting aircraft in New Zealand only private companies or does the state also do something?
