This was a long time in the making, and is here only because of the extensive Splitpin exposure it has had, presumed proof that it can be made to work.
Well out of the box it doesn’t, in true CapSim tradition the textures are made so that addon repaints will leave a black saddle on the fuselage, presumably locking up the market for later payware liveries
I was amused to see the vitriol attached to the fix for this,
posted over at FS.To

But it is a vital link in my current obsession with chilly flights, and here we are at Operation Deep Freeze. Despite all the above, it really is quite a good visual model. Somehow I’d never been inside the front end of one of these: the office is enormous, more like a living room.

Lots of detail and bits that open and shut, getting ready for the big day out. There’s younger brother in the background.

And off we go.
About as far as this bird wants to fly, some 3800km later we ease down past Mt. Erebus, by now a familiar sight and something to be flown past at a healthy distance no matter what.
Balmy weather at Williams field, actually quite a way off from McMurdo and Scott base.
There would be good reasons for that too, I s’pose.
