Recife-Fernando der Noronha Island
A short hop from Recife to Fernando de Noronha in an Azul Conecta Cessna Caravan.
What looks like a simple regional flight quickly turns into a very different experience once you leave the coastline behind. With nothing but open water ahead, the limitations of a single-engine aircraft become much more apparent, and it certainly makes you think that a twin would be the more comfortable choice for this kind of operation.
Still, the Caravan handles the sector reliably, and the reward is well worth it. The island appears almost out of nowhere, surrounded by deep blue water and dramatic coastline, making for a memorable approach.
A short flight on paper — but one that definitely keeps you thinking all the way across.
