Went for a 'flight' yesterday, set off early and came back before sunset, in order to try out some new settings. Just like chess, there seem to be a million possibilities for the sliders on FS9, and it is a lot of trial and error, especially on a 3 year old computer. Still, got some nice views and had a lot of fun seeing what worked and what did not. Got a nice sunset (thanks to Flight Environment add on) as a bonus. I am still trying to work out how to get complete cloud cover for the whole route, as I left Wanaka with 7/8 cloud cover but (and very unusually!!) got to the West Coast where it was clear and sunny (is this a record for the West Coast). More adjustments to the settings I think.......

More about the settings:-

If you are interested, it is the Geographix 20m mesh, with most of the display settings around the 3-4 mark. I am tweaking them now to see what the maximum is that I can get, yet still get a frame rate of at least 16 fps. I set the start time at around 0700 so that I could get long shadows and dawn light, but I think that the photos could be lightened a shade. The Seneca is from Just Flight, with the aircraft quality setting on the highest level. Clouds are from Flight Enviroment.
