NZWN insight for the first time.

First impression was the awsome ground textures, fps took a fair hit on approach.

Taxing along the lovely taxiways! :D

user posted image
ah found it, good ol gate 27 :D (one of two of wellingtons gates that support up to Heavys)

user posted image
No stuffing around setting frequencys to make the gates move, easy as setting the park brake and it will rise up and move towards the aircraft.

Now time to admire the night textures as we push back for a flight back to Christchurch.

user posted image
Passing the minimum left turn altitude and heading out over the nicely lit city.

user posted image
For photoreal at night this looks prety damn good.

user posted image
Back in Chistchurch soon to head out to wellington again (NZCH/NZWN was one of my favorite routes already, now I just can't keep away from it :P )

user posted image
The next day out in the defualt R22 for some exploring of the local heliports (yes I can fly a heli, just hehe)

user posted image
More awsome textures.

user posted image
On top of one of the highrises, right on the helipad may I note, ah the talent :P

Carparks that don't kill the frames, had some trouble finding a space

The cd box cover has a picture of the terminal with all this AI traffic parked realisticly I was tempted enough to install VOZ AI, I as prety impressed with the AI parking, but before long the realisation of dealing with defualt atc sunk in and it was soon uninstalled again

A few days later heading back to Wellington from NZCH.

user posted image
One of the best aprts of this route, the kiakoras.

user posted image
Decided to use rwy 16 to see the nice visuals past the city, was a 12knot tail wind thow! really shows how short this rwy is.

user posted image
Down the 34 end the grass ground textures are incredible.

user posted image
I installed the Demo of JFs tomy and did a flight to NZPP. Here we are over at 1000, I suppose thats the minimum height around wellington?

user posted image
Following the highways and things up to Paraparaumu.

user posted image
Entering left downwind. btw the photoreal coverage gos a couple of miles north of NZPP.

So thats the lot, I had a heap more but heres enough :P

This is now the best scenery in my sim, performance was quite good once I did some slider adjusting (just pulling the autogen and scenery complexity back a bit, most systems around now should handle this fine thow). The photoreal textures are also the best in my sim, and "bluries" wern't very comman, although last night on approach the whole ground was just a big blur untill about 5nm out it came all clear again, proably cos I had every other program running at the same time thow!

So thanks Robin, awsome work

Enjoy
James

Very cool James

Yip the rules say at least 1000ft AGL over built up areas.

How much does the package cost? I'm tempted as my comp's just having an upgrade. How will an AMD 2.2ghz dual core, 1gb of ram (i think) an 80gb HD and A Nvidia 6600(again i think) 256mb card do? On fs9 btw.

Love the first shot Jimmy!

Welly runs well on my old 2.4Ghz Celaron, providing I turn down the scenery sliders a little and/or my AI. It is really worth the purchase!

Thanks for those, Jimmy, it's always great to look at my scenery through someone else's eyes. You've certainly made it look impressive:) I might have to start paying you commission from the number of folk you've got interested...
The dimple in the seawall which shows in a couple of the shots can be fixed by changing the TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL= in the FS9.cfg file to at least 20.

Yes the scenery is awesome although there are a couple of problems I noticed.
The taxiways look awesome but why doesn't the photorealisticness stretch out to the end of taxiways 1 and 10? (and use an AFCAD texture instead) plus there are two taxiways clumped together at runway 16 (1 & 2) also there are only middle taxiway lights plus lights only on the edge of the runway (as far as I know).

Sorry about that it's just that those things have always bugged me (in the sense I couldn't figure it out)

ah found it, good ol gate 27 biggrin.gif (one of two of wellingtons gates that support up to Heavys)

Sorry to be grumpy again (please don't take this the wrong way) but actually gate 27, 26, 25 & 24 (combined to make twenty fove), 23, 22 with restrictions and 16 can all take 767's (and most likely 28) but then again this may not be in the FS9.

Also read this for 767 restrictions: http://www.aip.net.nz/pdf/NZWN_53.5_53.6.pdf
Just in case.

Again sorry for being grumpy, some may say its because its about 7 degrees celcius over here.

Anyway on a lighter note great shots, I'm glad somebodies showcasing the airport as I'm gonna need good shots to help me buy the scenery when I get FS9 up and running.

sorry, me again.
( I bet you are all going: uhhhhhhhhhhhhh!)

But Robin, why did you use the air-bridges that you used for 17 and 16 on 10 and 11 because those ones are the movable ones that you get at the domestic gates in Auckland for the Air NZ 733's

Just wondering.

In most places, Turning Down AI doesnt really turn it down- 1% is the same as 100%

Time constraints. I ran out of time to build a different gate. The gates took a lot of work, and reusing them made more sense.

There were some limitations with the markings and lights at Wellington, mainly caused by my lack of programming skills. I design, but I don't program. For that reason none of my sceneries is going to be technically perfect. Hopefully they'll all look good though.

don't worry about it. They were merely little things that I wondered about really.
