After getting my REAL NZ Marlborough scenery in the mail, I decided it was time to take test flight acoss the Cook Straight between NZWN and NZWB.

My aircraft of choice is the "delightful" PMDG Beech 1900d, just like the one that made a belly landing at Woodbourne last week.

I mucked around with the editing in photostudio- not sure if it is too over the top. 13 slightly repetative shots blow:

Nice shots! is the real nz scenery pretty fps friendly like the Flytampa stuff? I'm thinking of getting Auckland, Wellington and Marlborough.

I tried a wheels up landing afterwards, but unfortuantly my FS9 setup dosen't seem to allow me to recreate skidding along the runway.

Yep- you can tone it down in the display/scenery setup to customise performance on different PC's. I'm sure your new rig would handle it just fine.

Was the blur on purpose if it wasn't I think you need glasses mate

Pretty good stuff, those last few shots on finals are nice. The blue doesn't do it for me though.

lol I visited mike the other day and had a fly on his sim (first time in ages) mikes sitting there while Im making an approach into NZWN in a Beech 1900D he tells me to flare and then asks if I put the gear down my response was "I thought you did that "nope" he says" oh cr@p full power we had just enough time to put the gear down lets just say we nearly over shot the runway big time and it wasnt a smooth landing for the pax.

That sort of situation is where CRM comes in handy "you always have to communicate with one another"

What do you guys think about the blur tool I have used? I can't decide whether it makes the shot look more realisic or just hurts my eyes..

Hurts my eyes a bit actually Marlbrough looks cool as though

maybe i need glasses ,nah no way i love the blur filter and a light render filter with a light green and red over it ,then i put another light render of yellow and a max pass ,gives it that bit of hay are my eyes focusing right? is that real ,etc
there are many more filters i use but they are different for each shot ,maybe a motion blur
great shots cant wait for my copy ,then i can join you guys flying around the lastest realease

Nice shots - I prefer the 206 shots over the 1900D shots though - I think the 1900 shots may have a little too much blur but the 206 shots seem just right - do you have the same blur effect with both?

The VASI will read to low (ie. say you are too high) for most smaller A/C anyway....its usually a case of trusting instruments for IFR approaches and trusting your eyes (ie rwy perspective) for VFR approaches?

In the first 1900d set, I used gaussian blur with a 3 pixel radius, and on the second C206 set I used the 'average' blur filter with a 2 pixel radius. The reason I experimented with these was because I think my shots generally look too sharp and I was trying to make them look more realistic... I think a different technique is required... any suggestions?

Yes in that case I was- too busy checking out the awesome scenery to fly precisely on the glideslope

I have noticed in many of my other screenshots, it appears I am too high/low from the VASI indicators, but they change depending on the angle of the camera in the external spot view.

Well in that case Trolly, its completely understandable
