A visitor from over the Tasman...
The A340-500 is one of my favourite airliners and this paint, authentic or not, displays quite well.
Where to visit?
Well why not see if NZWB can accommodate something of this size?
It's the CLS model, gross weight trimmed to a conservative 450,000 lbs.
Northern approach, put it down smartly, and get those big fans blowing forwards.



No problem stopping, although it used 90% of the runway.
Turning around was a bit of an issue, however.
Pushback on departure demonstrated the size of the thing - Woodburne doesn't really have enough elbow room for this.



The Beech could be threaded through one of those big nacelles if there weren't a mincer in the way.
Getting out proved surprisingly easy.
No problem then.



It's difficult to do low-light screenshots, I'd be interested to hear how they show up on a CRT screen.

They all look great on my CRT Charl- I love the way you challenge the liner method of posting screenies and add a story to boot!

Here's an EDIT to the sequence:
Flying on to Wellington, I loaded up to Max Weight to see if it would get away, but Nos 2 & 3 appear to have clipped a fence on the way out.



It still climbed as the engines died off...
Dumping 200 tonnes of jetfuel into Wellington harbour assisted in the safe 2-engine recovery to Rwy 34.

I used to hate it when that happened with the posky models- before I knew what I was doing, I used to sit a compleatly full 747 on a windless runway and attempt to take off, finding myself grinding and sparking the rear end every time.

I think it's about time I dusted off my Tahiti Nui posky model and took it for a blast

A320 i'm a bit "itchy and scratchy" on , A380 ... mmm diffinite an UGG MUG ! but the 340 "agreed" has the LOOKS Ito the CLS model , I must install that OZ airforce paint , It dose suit it

Nice shots - love the RAAF scheme - where did it come from - default with the model?

Is this an a/c upgrade from the BBJ for the probable new Aussie PM

I d/led the model loong ago, I don't see it anywhere at the moment.
