Another regional flight in the Vistaliners 737, this time in Dans new Thomsonfly 737 that's servicing the NZ circuit this summer. Thanks again to Towerguy for supplying me with the enroute charts for this flight.

Below are 15 screenies, showing off the aircraft rather than the scenery- my sim was having one of those random 'blurry' days today, and stupid default ATC only cleared me to descend from flight level 360 once I was already above the Firth of Thames (meaning I had to do some serious circling) <_< I also tried out a motion blur edit in the first shot and didn't like it- see if you can define the location in shot #9:

Cheers

Awesome shots Trolly, I'm looking forward to being able feed my addiction and do that sort of thing when my comp's fixed. I had a bit of relief today having 1.5 hours in the Flight Experience sim.. I buggered up the landing in Macau, but the one into Kai Tak was a pearler :P
It really showed how hard flying a 737 is for real... Well maybe harder- the guy made me fly the whole bloody CH-WN leg by hand!

Amazing shots, and a great repaint! My favourite shots are the last few with the sunset

As for the location of shot nine...somewhere just north of Mount Taranaki by the way the shots are ordered; so I'll have a guess at New Plymouth?

Yea, I'd agree with New Plymouth, its the only sizeable city thereabouts (except Wanganui), but I'm not sure that Wanganui has the same sort of port area that you can see in that screeny. Nice shots as well... :)

Great shots.
Just wondering but why do you still have default NZCH?

Wow nice pics - have you got Active Sky running?

Being an ex Naki boy it is without doubt New Plymouth.

I am guessing you have default NZCH because of framerates?

One more question - what water textures are you using? -I am have default at the moment and I am debating whether to reinstall REP water textures (and only the water textures) this time or maybe something else may suit?

I know what you mean, I thought I had prepared myself pretty well with my previous simming before I went into Flight Experience but I learnt a lot that day!

You got it Matt- although I thought some people have been been tricked into thinking it was the 'metropolis' of Nelson which is also directly on the CH AA route.

You sure know your stuff Kelburn, and Naki is partly right. However, I can get acceptable frames if I turn my settings down, it's just that I can't find an AFCAD that alligns with the new terminal, and I also just can't stand those old ground textures!

Thanks, and yes I do. I've had it running every simming session I have had since I bought it.

I've recently converted to Zinertek World Enviroment textures instead of the R.E.P set due to performance on my old graphics card. I've seen brilliant screenshots all over the net of the R.E.P waters, but when I load them up on my sim and crank up the detail, I get horrid thick lines all through the water. However, when I first got to have a fly on Creator2003's sim I was amazed at the water textures he had, having never heard of Zinertek. When I got back to my sim, I couldn't live without them and had to get myself a copy, seeing it's a very reasonable $25nz. The package comes with a real simple installer and heaps and heaps of combinations of cloud, sky, water and lighting effects which satisfied my compleatly. The only thing which I have updated since are the clouds from ActiveSky but havn't noticed any difference in framerates. To be honest though, if you are going to splash out, I'd buy Active Sky (unless you are still on dial up) before you get yourself Zinertek as it creates such a noticable atmosphere in your sim and includes its own little set of textures ;)

I have recently got Active Sky and the shots of the Blackjack was with Active Sky - I am dial up and Active Sky runs fine with it but I still need to work the whole Active Sky thing out - the thread about Active Sky was useful.

I reckon the giveaway there was the shot of Mt Taranaki before the mystery city..., but otherwise genius for sure. :D
