As the topic says, just a few random shots from the last year or so...
Quality varies due to the state of my install and the settings I was playing with at the time unsure.gif

Two rather weak shots of a recreation of the famous Ploesti Raid by B-24's at low level against oil refineries in Romania.
They took low level to a whole new meaning, with 160,000lb bombers at METO power smashing their fuselages into small mounds and anything else hidden in the long grass on the run-in to the refinery...
We didnt have the scenery, or go that low - but we are working on some scenery using a custom micro-mesh and some modified Shell Plant scenery winkyy.gif

Cheers Naki smile.gif

The explosions (as well as the Antarctica base and the Base Marambio sceneries) are part of various hoplists created by a guy called Nasty on the WSPilots website...
For example, the explosions are from Carrier Madness part 1, a hoplist that takes you from the Alaskan tundra, all the way down the Pacific and back up the Western Atlantic - about 135 hops altogether, with at least 100 carrier traps and launches along the way.
He (Nasty) writes the list, gathers the freeware scenery - carriers, oilrigs, ships, and the proximity based .XML effects and bundles them into one download on the WSPilots site. Complete with an FSNav plan that includes small side tasks like the gunnery/depth-charge training range that the Skyraider pic is from smile.gif

Searchlights are a couple of kb download from S.O.H I think, covers the city of London and a bit of the French coast. They are proximity based too, so wherever you fly more will get switched on and the first ones will turn off.

The internet really changed the flightsim experience didn't it?
Not a day goes by that I don't see something new - either missed previously, or brand new...
Fascinating post, AS!

That's a nice set of warbirds you've got in your FS hangar and a nice set of screenshots too.
It would be hard for me to pick a favourite, but some of them have some really nice colours (like the pink one, or the sunset silhouette one)

The pink mountain sunset shot (under the Wanaka formation) is just amazing, like a few others round here, you really seem to have a talent for screenshot capturing winkyy.gif

Oh, and the B-24 flight down the bottom looks like it was a lot of fun, nothing beats getting in something loud and grunty and taking it out for a low level blast!

Once again, thanks guys smile.gif

One thing I have noticed in my time around here, is that a lot of you (and no critisism intended in any way, shape or form) fly in single player mode using the fantastic AI that is available - GNZLAP for example, which is something I'm going to have a play around with in the coming months.

In the whole time I've been playing around with FS9, I think may have had about 10 short (no more than 12hr) flights in single player mode. Thats not counting the flights where I was toying around with FSrecorder though... So all of the above screenshots (apart from the sepia B-17 formation) were flown in multiplayer, even the Whirlwind/XP-72 Wanaka flypast.
All on a trio of US based servers, with a ping time of anywhere between 300-1500ms... How bout I bring some of the seasoned pilots from WSPilots down here, and we can show them the best of flightsim Kiwi-style thumbup1.gif
