Well at least you got yours going, mine stopped loading at 52%, got past that and now I get fps of about 4 and there's nothing there...Been told it's a problem on my end and that I should reinstall FS...not going to bother. Too much of a hassle ow with all the addons. Once I get a new computer and FSX I'll be giving it another go.

I have never seen so nice a scenery with so much eye candy, and run as smooth as this does. And jeez is it pretty.

That's the thing I can't figure out is the fact that it runs so well. I've always liked flying around Hong Kong & this would have to be pretty much the definitive version of it.
To the poster who were having problems installing it,I hope it's sorted for you eventually mate as this is really worth having a look. If not you might like to try the freeware by 9Dragons which is top notch as well.
Ian I haven't venture to far out as yet but I would say it only covers a small area.Quality not quantity right? drool.gif

Absolutely agree this would be definitive, FlyTampa is something I buy sight unseen.
The scenery is not as extensive as 9Dragons, and also unfortunately not compatible with its photoreal.
It's a tragedy that two fine renditions of the same area should arrive so close together.
But I'm very happy with the FT version, it has a true HK feel, and runs extremely smoothly.
Biggest problem is switching all that AI from VHHH to VHHX!

No idea what was wrong with my sim, but it works now, and I've done nothing to it since it wouldn't go. Surprised my FPS is so good, compared with my specs and the detail in the scenery!

Charl, that's not much of a problem if you have Woai, see here http://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3116 heck, even the AI is flying the CHECKERBOARD APPROACH properly, although the first time I saw it, there was about 3 747s and 2 A340s coming in all at once! What a mess! I've since taken the ai out, decided frames are more important.

Glad you got sorted...
Yes I've unplugged the WOA stuff as suggested.
There is still a mass of PAI in use unfortunately, and notepad isn't the most effective way of dealing with large databases.
The AI is actually half the fun - see my video clip
The curved approach incidentally is no mean feat for AI.
Hats off to FT, they are totally professional designers in every respect, the immersion factor is Very Large.

drool.gif That is just amazing CN! Those are the most profound screenshots I have ever seen from a flight simulator program!

However, I have decided to wait until I get back from the UK and have bought a new computer before I purchase this addon, although it will be the very first addon I purchase for sure!

A bit late now but all you have to do is open up the flightplans in notepad and select find and replace, type in VHHH and in replace type VHHX. Then hit replace all and presto.

Quite. Hey, does anyone know how often they used the over-the-city approach vs the over the water one in practice?
I know it probably depended on winds etc, but was one actually used more than the other?

Do you think the bridge shadows are painted on the water? I wonder what it looks like when the sun shines.
One popular feature of this scenery is the clever use of shading on the buildings - the bottom of the building textures are darker, which gives a nice 3D effect.
