Loving the new FEX which has some really natural clouds and cloud formations. Spending a lot of time now flying around in cloud just to experience it all. One thing that I did not pick up on before is that for best effects, FEX needs an internet connection, as many of the additional texture combinations (some designed by Peter Wilding and some by purchasers of FEX) need to be downloaded before they can be installed. No problem to do, but if you have a program such as Alacrity running and have set FSX up to run without an internet connection, then it might be a bit inconvenient. Is this as real as it gets?

I am still running the 1024 X 1024 textures, but will get around sometime to trying the HD textures as well. See what you think of the clouds.........

smooth landings.

How do you reckon FEX stacks up against "Active Sky"??

Loving your shots as always happytraveller- only thing I don't really like is the FSX enlarged wingtip view as seen in your second picture down... however, your environment and photoreal scenery is to die for drool.gif

I was waiting for the Ultimate Flight Environment to come out, but got tired of waiting for it, so purchased FEX instead. Sorry to say that I have no experience of Active Sky but for now, FEX will suit me fine.

Regarding the quality of the photoreal scenery and clouds, it is not my work!!! I can only thank RealNZ and FEX for it, all I do is install them and use them!!! I will report back when I have got to grips with the full possiblities of FEX, with a few more screenshots.

smooth landings.
