Thanks to all who entered into this months competition - we have a total of 20 entries. Also I'd like to extend a warm welcome to some of the new members who have entered their first competition shots in this month, well done. smile.gif

Voting will be open until Thursday (4th Dec) evening, at that time the screenshot with the most votes will be deemed the winner and the author will receive a prize of his choice from HiFi Simulation Software. You can view the full-sized versions of the screenshots here. winkyy.gif

A quick reminder, this months theme was 'Weather Bomb', please take a second to consider that when voting. smile.gif

I was going to say something about not counting chickens - but with this Asian flu around ... I dunno ... not very "PC". Still a few days to go, though ... and I think there are some stunning ones up there. I normally have a hard time deciding where to place my vote - and this month was no exception. I still think we're lucky to have such a photogenic country (and that the rules specify it has to be NZ). Imagine doing screenshots around *Luton* tongue.gif

I definitely vote in every competition. Usually my vote is one of the first, as I write up the thread. winkyy.gif

When will it go header? Or do you have to photoshop the 'NZFF' into it?

I was going to say that a couple of other entries have moved up significantly today - it'll be interesting to see where they go.

It's weird, trying to predict what people like. The trouble is, I'm from a [graphic] design background (and now website designer), so I'm quite aware of what I look at on websites. The NZFF banner takes up a LOT of screen "real estate" and they're always pretty stunning. I can't help but notice them. Naturally, I'm keen to get one of mine up there ninja.gif ... but the great prizes are also a very real incentive for me.

But ... I think other people just aren't *that* bothered (!) about what the site looks like - and are happy to contribute nonetheless. NZFF is pretty lively - with plenty of posts - and usually in good humour winkyy.gif ... so I suppose that's the important thing. I'd have thought a competition like this would have a *massive* voting response, but there you go!! Personally, I enjoy looking at ALL the contributions as much as trying to create my own.

I once designed a BBS-style website for people to give away/redistribute their old junk (for free) ... as sort of "inorganic Trademe" (I called it "Dump Me") and no-one was interested. I came to the conclusion tht Kiwis are just too mean to give anything away (!!!) - they'd rather bury it in landfill. But I digress laugh.gif ... the point is I genuinely thought I'd be inundated.

Anyway - thanks for the encouragement, folks ... still waiting to get past that chequered flag!

Yea, that could well be it. I usually try to get the link of the voting thread put in the monthly newsletter so people can come and have a pick of whats on offer, but this month I was outpaced a wee bit. winkyy.gif
