Will do that tonight I hope.

Does that repaint come with it?
Or do you download it?
I also heard that ther Herc Repaints for FS9 (RNZAF) work in FSX perfect

Soon as I hopped into this beast, I was stunned. The Detail is amazing. For Example the pilots uniform hanging up sways if you make bank angles which I thought is pretty cool. Has all the voice warning like "500,400" eg which I am obsessed with heheh

Anyway here are the pics, Eddy I also didn't get the Artificial Horizon to appear and the bottom screen. I think there is a setting on this which I have yet to play with. Very Sensitive aircraft and very pleased I bought it. Awesome features and for $25 it's a give a way. I made it survive alright at Tauranga tongue.gif

Works so smooth and harldly effected my frames at all:

Cheers

Chris

Do you know what the filename(s) are for the NZ C-130 repaint? I'd be interested to try it on the FSX version.

EDIT: Found them! ... but I'll post in the other CS C-130 thread winkyy.gif

Nice shots. There's a bit of a learning curve with complex add on's such as this but that makes it all the more fun wink.gif bargain of the year in IMO. That paint comes with the FSX version as well.

How come our instruments aren't working in the cockpit?

Do you have to program the FMC first or something?

Actually I think I'll have to read the manual.

Basically, you go into the top panel and flip every switch you can see laugh.gif

The most important, though, as benwyn says - is to align the IRS (top left). Switch all three one notch to align - then once the indicator lights disappear, switch them to "nav". Have yet to work out what "Att" stands for. No - I haven't read the manual either laugh.gif laugh.gif - having far too much fun for that! winkyy.gif

I found the easiest way was to create an IFR flight plan in FS, then it comes up in one of the menus in the FMC (to import). All the waypoints come over - but sadly no SID/STAR information, so you still have to do manual approaches. That said, using LNAV and VNAV (or whatever they are called) works well. The autopilot will follow all the waypoints happily. You do have to set the altitudes manually (as with many FMC's I think). ie. If the next waypoint is 8k and you're still stuck up at 21k, you'll need to set the a/p altitude to 8k for the FMC to kick in and reduce height.

It's a great plane to "fly" and I'm delighted it has a native RNZAF skin. Thanks to Trolly(I think) for the original heads-up on the bargain!

Just thought I'd post a couple of the "bargain basement" Herc - repainted in Dave Sweetman's (Dax) RNZAF colours (rnzaf_06.zip):

I had to play with the aircraft.cfg file a bit to get FSX to recognise the repaint - but it's great to fly one of our own! Other files I found on FlightSim.Com were:

rnzaf_60.zip
rnzaf_80.zip
rnzafcam.zip

All are FS9 repaints, but looks like they'll work fine in FSX - if rnzaf_06 is anything to go by! Thanks, pilotgallagher01 for the nudge winkyy.gif

Having great fun with both 757 and C-130 from CS! I hope they made tons of money!

Heck they would of too!

OK thanks for the info on the IRS, I've tried aligning it in the past but the lights don't seem to go out no matter how long you wait (well that might be a bit of an exaggeration)
How long should it take?

What, no Sid/Star on the FMC? Oh well, that'll give me something to do in the cruise I guess biggrin.gif

Thanks

Nick

BTW, my fps are quite high! about 30 in Wellington which is good enouhg for me (running 1920x1080)

About 30 seconds, make sure you switch it to nav after align is complete.

There's no align time option you have to set is there ? On the PMDG744 and the LDS763 you have a choice of how long you want it to take - one of them lets you choose between instant, 30 second, or 10 minute (ie real), and the other lets you specify how many seconds you want it to take.

Couple of things to watch about aligning IRS's - if they lose power at any point or if the aircraft moves at all during the align process it will fail.

Cheers
Gary

Yeah, thats the case with the PIC 737 on cold startup, you have to remain stationary

E8400 Overclocking to 4GHZ with offcourse sufficient cooling. May get a quad core next year but as my CPU is pretty fast no real point just yet
