As many of you probably know, I'm a bit of a fan of the Fletcher Fu24 topdresser, more than 20 of which have been operated by my employer over the years/ The rumbling roar of their flat-eight engines reverberating off the hills is a uniquely Kiwi sound.

As many of you probably are, I'm also a fan of the superlative Supermarine Spitfire, iconic British fighter of WW2. The latest of the breed to fly, PV270, is owned by Martonian Brendon Deere and painted in his uncle Alan's colours, a Spit with a uniquely Kiwi connection.

So why not fly them together? laugh.gif

I was originally just going to play around with two actual photos to get this bizarre combo, then I thought "Why not do it in Flight Simulator?"!!

I was throttle to the firewall in BHC, trimming to fly straight and level, whereas I took off a bit afterward in PV270 and raced to catch up. Then, about 0.4nm away, I eased back on the throttle....but still overtook! So back to about 1/8, BHC slid past, and then hovering around 1/4 throttle - and very nose high! - I was able to keep abreast of the mighty Fletcher. Good fun! rolleyes.gif
