Aircraft gone

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

I have downloaded some aircraft and they have worked fine for a few weeks, but recently they are not available for selection. Ive checked the file and they all have the neccassery files e.g. aircraft, model, textures etc. what is wrong. do i have to re-download the files?

Ok i got one working EXCEPT it will not show the aircraft at all! even with the texture that came with it.

Interesting problem, have you changed anything since installing them? I know I have issues with aircraft not showing up on the list, but I have never 'lost' one before.

Very strange, I don't have any answers at this stage.

What aircraft are they, I might try installing them and see what happens. :plane:

ooo00000ooooo we have a ghost in FSX wicked dude

that is the first time ive ever heard of that ,there is no reason if all the files are in the right places this could even happen .

there must be a real ezy answer to this as it sounds impossible if those folders are in there ,and in the right places???

in all my years <_<

serously the best thing to do is uninstall and do a reinstall ofcourse fresh from the zip folder it came from, replace and over right all the files then see if the ghost comes back, failing that do a exosisum on that ghost plane and find a new beast without the extra baggage

1.go to control panel /folder options/view /show hidden folders,tick that and press ok ,,,
2.Then go to my computer/c/drive {right click explore}then all the folders and op system is shown on the left hand side ,

3. go down the list in c/drive documents&settings and click on user{computer users name ..} /then application data folder /microsoft /then fsx folder ,in that folder there is a cfg file called fsx.cfg, now on this cfg is a list of aircraft installed in the fsx system
now i was wondering if your aircraft is on this list, its the only thing i can think of if it is failing to show up at up ?????
hope this helps abit to finding the ghost plane

don't worry i managed to sort it out.

They were fs9 aircraft and i suppose there is something different in the aircraft notepad.
because as soon as i changed it to the default 737 settings apart from the the top parts, it worked like they all did before. Althoug i still don't know how they changed in the first place? <_<

Anyway thak you all for the help
