Strange aircraft in to Wellington?

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Does anyone know of any visiting aircraft in the last 10mins as I saw a DC-9/727/MD-80 lloking aircraft arrive from the north along the 16 ILS. Any ideas?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

I'm going down to the airport soon, I'll go have a look. I'm guessing RNZAF building will be the first place to look..

I think that may have come via Auckland, as I heard an odd sounding engine noise and poked my head outside a few hours ago to see a tail-mounted twin engine jet fly over. Thought it was a biz-jet from what I saw, guess MRC aviation can give us some details in the next 24 hours...

It was just a Gulfstream 550. Parked at the Bizjet apron in Wellington.

Nothing else was there- unless you mistook an A320 for a DC-9- I don't think anyone can do that :P

Although the Gulfstream 550 is quite a big aircraft..

I think it may have come to Christchurch early this morning, about 2am. I heard a different engine noise and had a look outside, only saw the nav lights, looked pretty big.
