...or just haven't gotten round to installing the new FSX Realair Spitfire?
While Ian is learning how to load his cannon, hop over to SOH for Yago9's latest photoreal paint for the FS9 version:

40,000ft photorec flight over Marlborough.
Rare shot below is an actual screenshot, untouched, for all you purists

Photoreal does for FS9 what bump mapping does for FSX

Wow brilliant shots Charl!
I'm no screenshot purist, but the second is probably my favourite.

Retouched or not, you take some great screenshots.

Cheers

Thanks all!
It's a long story - Ian is doing FSX stuff with essentially the same rig I believe.

There is another one in the works, I believe, they didn't want to trip over someone I think. As to the cannons, you'd better hurry up

True that, that's one sweet looking repaint.

Judging from the stationary prop in your last shot, I'm guessing you thrashed the engine too hard and blew it up? I remember the first time I did that, viewing the explosion from the VC- had no idea what was going on, but it was all very realistic. Gotta love the attention to detail from the Real Air team.

NEVER - boost below +12psi, oil temp always under 105, per manual.
That's a Rolls Royce in there, sir. ;)
Actually, the pic was taken at a "small GA" start point in Ian's Nelson scenery - I was so focussed on the sun glint it didn't occur to me it would look that way :ph43r:

But if I had blown the engine, prop would've been feathered, as in above shot.
Love that kind of attention to detail, too, watch the pitch change as you move the VC prop control lever....

To be fair, there were 24 different marks of Spitfires built, and all those IIVXI roman numerals confuse me! <_<
All I know is that I reconise that classic Spitfire shape and love the noise it makes ^_^

Hmmm, listening to a merlin is like listening to the London Philharmonic Orchestra...

Listening to a Griffon is more like listening to Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony playing S&M...

I heartily agree with both of you! The Merlin purrs, she whistles, She's A Real Engine.

Agree,

Love the spit and the merlin sound.

But imagine the Mosquito wizzing past unladen at max speed with two merlins!

Would of been hard for a man to contain himself!
