June Screenshot Competition

This month, Carenado are sponsoring our screenshot competition. This means that the person who wins with the best screenshot this month will receive any Carenado payware product they want which can be viewed at www.carenado.com ... Now that's an incentive for you all to enter!

This is the 25th monthly screenshot competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF.

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high res version saved on your computer as the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert it into a site banner!

3) Also remember, try and make your should suitable for a thin rectangular banner. Think about that what positioning your aircraft and camera angles etc. (and please don't include any text on the image either)

4) Images can be submitted from June 3rd 2008 to June 30th 2008, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by pressing the edit button, to the top right of your post. Please don't make new posts saying you have edited your original post as this makes the thread cluttered).

5) On June 30th, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the Flight Experience prize!

6) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

7) This month's theme is 'Wild Weather'- be creative!

Hey thats cool dude like how the clouds are split on ether side of the avro, very nice capture and the rain is looking much better than mine there very worthy of the prize this month

I decided my first effort (Last flight out of the Chathams for the evening) was possibly a bit too dramatic, so I've gone with something a bit easier to understand

Thanks It was going to be a sitting on the runway shot, I cranked the crosswind up to 40kts straight across the runway trying to get the rain to not be vertical but that didn't work so I decided to take off and go for this sort of shot - oops, forgot to turn the crosswind down, it was seriously hard work to even keep the runway in sight

Seeing a RAAF Challenger at WLG after school today reminded me of this model and paint on my HD.

I added a bit of blur and stuff in Photoshop, it looks a little strange, so it might be the blur or just JPEG compression or something

Set the spot distance to 3,000ft and just shoot some cumulo-nimbus at 10,000ft...
