haha reminds me of this one:
There’s a story about the military pilot calling for a priority landing because his single-engine jet fighter was running “a bit peaked.â€￾

Air Traffic Control told the fighter jock that he was number two, behind a B-52 that had one engine shut down.

“Ah,â€￾ the fighter pilot remarked, “the dreaded seven-engine approach.â€￾

Actual reports submitted by US Air Force pilots with the maintenance crew replies:

Problem: Number three engine missing.............................(OK it would've been a prop...)
Solution: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

I think kiwibarguy.... you have the next Question ... I have so many books that contradict one source to another , many i have here chop and change dates , the worse example ive seen is a JU87 and they mention it as a ME109 .

Early morning rollout of the XB-52 29th Nov 1951 and its first flight was on Oct 2 1952
2nd prototype rollout of the YB-52 weeks after but flew first before the XB in April 15 1952 , both types had the tandem cockpit layout .

CHARL , mate that is Brilliant ... i want to use this biggrin.gif

In the Battle of Britain 'Hindrup Sergeant F G' flew with which squadron? Yes he is a Kiwi!
I thought i would choose a random pilot as all deserve to be remembered!

Yea I cheated and used Google - found a web site of all the Allied airmen KIA in the BoB - there were a lot - and many NZers

Okay sort of related to the BoB question - how many Spitfires are currently flying in Australasia - and for a bonus mark how many Hurricanes are currently flying in Australasia?

Replicas aside, I'd hazard the Alpine Fighter Collection has the only flyable Hurricane, assume it's still here.
Am I right?
