Of all my competition failures (sniff! winkyy.gif) ... this was the most fun to set up. No editing here ... and it's a Spit, so what more would you want? laugh.gif

Actually, competition failures are most likely to qualify for airing here.
Nobody would guess the time and trouble it took me to set up all my Sabres on the apron (for my 3rd favourite pic) and get a second wing to overfly and break right as they came into frame.
The picture could've been shopped in 5 minutes, and everybody assumed it was so. Ho hum.

This was very very hard to choose...I did most of my flying this year in New Zealand and made alot of screenshots. In the end I figured I just had to choose one from my Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow as it was the most memorable thing I did in FS this year ninja.gif There were over 100 shots of the show too, but I chose this shot because it shows the Wanaka area off nicely and also because the Lanc's were a highlight of the show! biggrin.gif

Cheers! santa_cool.gif

I was waiting for one of these, Florian!
WOW was one of the screenshot events of the year, alright, and I agree totally with your subject pick.
Wait just a minnit while I go looking, I don't want to have to repeat myself...
this is what I said at the time:
You saw it first at WOW!

nearly a dozen Merlins in the air, brings a tear to the eye.
Dunno why, it's just a machine really...

You have to wonder what's taking Wingman so long...does he really have more payware than screenshots???

I like this one because of the splash of colour from the plane.

Like Robin, there is no Aircraft to clutter the shot- Just a show off of some nice data and and a nice rendering engine smile.gif

Nice one, Timmo ... *very* nice! Is that an airfield on top of that mountain? If so, where is it? Shang-ri-la? laugh.gif

Yeah it is although it is no longer in use I believe- It is at the top of Mount Tarawera on the north eastern bit.

I tossed up whether to include a flatten for it when I released that bit of scenery but it didnt look right since it is a sloping runway in real life)

whathesaid.gif smile.gif

Though Robin's AKL scenery was created for FS2004, it works pretty well in FSX (you just need to add a couple of tiny exclude BGL files). There's the odd clash with NZ Topo roads, but it all looks pretty good. I'm not sure whether a revised AKL is that high on Rob's FSX list, so it's still worth getting - as you may end up running it for a fair while. winkyy.gif

As with all of Rob's sceneries - if you're even half thinking of buying any - just do it! You won't regret it! I appear to have collected the whole set now - but I ran out of money to get the high-res mesh, so I'm still missing a bit of NZ eye-candy!
