found another downside...

I have a Saitek X52. The 64-bit version of the software is simply *disgusting*. Saitek's driver/software support has always been appalling, so I'm not surprised. They removed the graphical preview (so you know which hat "POV3" is etc.) and you can't select a profile from the taskbar - you have to fire up the profile editor and load it from there each time [sigh]. Next step is to try my TrackIR.

but remeber its only a beta/release candidate, not the full thing. it will be better(hopefully) once the full is released

I can use them, but there's a loss of functionality. Saitek removed the grpahics from the application a while back - and I've heard complaints about the 64-bit version in the past (with respect to Vista 64-bit).

Do you have the same stick? Can you select a profile from the taskbar icon? I can in Vista 32-bit - not Win7 64. I don't think it's a fault of the Win7 RC - more like crappy programming of the 64 bit application by Saitek.

The 64 bit Operating system is entirely different to the 64 bit CPU but you do need a 64 bit CPU to run a 64 bit OS
