My impression from the install instructions is that the files go directly into Addon Scenery\Scenery, so no activation required.
However I put them in their own folder to keep things tidy, but of course you'd need to create a Scenery folder as well.

Ya, I had the files in Addon Scenery/Scenery and they were not showing up when I tried to access from inside FSX in the Add Area section. I added another scenery folder with those files in it and it worked. Thanks!
Appreciate the patience you guys show us somewhat technically challenged FSXers smile.gif

The install instructions from the included readme:

QUOTE
++ Installation ++

1) Copy and paste "NZNE_Airport_ADEX.bgl" and "NZNE_Airport_ADEX_CVX.bgl" into:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery

2) Start FSX, choose NZNE then start flying![/quote]

If you followed these instructions, then you would not need to activate the scenery -- by putting it into the Addon Scenery\Scenery folder it will be pre-activated, which is the purpose of this particular folder. However I think you may have done something different?
I must admit I never install addons into Addon Scenery, so the way I installed it was this:
I created a folder called 'NorthShoreV1', and within this I created a Scenery folder. I put the BGL files into the scenery folder, and activated it within FSX.

a further reason being, where possible scenery addons should be grouped geographically to enable more efficient loading

This is what I e3nded up doing.
Initially i did as per readme except then i try to go into FSX and do the Add Area thing. Because I did not see it there to be added I assumed it wasn't installed. I did not realize if you did it as per readme the need to add area from within FSX was not needed.
In the end i am glad, I feel the way I ended up doing it (the same as you) is a more organized way. I can keep track of what is in my addon scenery this way.
Thanks again for the help smile.gif
