Man, I used to drive by that printer's place everyday on my way to work :S I've also had dinner upstairs in the "South of the Border" restaurant too. That has caved in - glad I wasn't there when it happened. Seems if it was old, and built from bricks, it has fallen down..

Glad to hear you are alright. I was wondering how you made out. They are reporting here it was a 7.1 quake, that is pretty good size. Hope all is well with the family, Don

Thinking of you guys down there. I'm curious. What scale is your KG5? My father (still alive too) was on radar on it. He did 18 months Russian convoys + Atlantic. He retired in 1956 after the coronation. As a member on the Royal Marines Band, he was not allowed to before hand!!!

I hope your weekend gets better...

Pete

The only shaking I have felt was my wife shaking me awake at 4.30am to tell me about it tongue.gif She heard our musical chime making noise in the night and then felt the shake. Nothing on what you CHCH people had to endure though. Godspeed your quick recoveries. As a long term Christchurch resident though my spirit is still there with you smile.gif

Peter , she s just over 2 meters approx 1/144 scale , scratch built no plans taken built from photos , radio controlled , Rick is building a model of the Graf Spee for his son mainly so we can have epic naval battles in Hagley Parks Victoria lake .
