Being blown away by FSX with NZ VLC

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Okay, I'm officially blown away by how good FSX looks on a machine suited to running it. I've recently managed to purchase such a machine (Intel i7 quad core with 8 Gb ram & NVidia GeForce GTX460) and just finished installing FSX and the new Vector Landclass. Sliders are set to max on most items...

First, a test flight with the FSX version of the iFly 747. A short hop from NZCH to NZAA. Picture shows the Malborough sounds in the background.

That was nice, but then I decided to try out the new ultralight over Milford Sound. Words fail me as to how good that looks!

On Approach for a landing.

Almost down...

All I can say is: To everyone who made the NZ Vector Landclass possible,

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Oh and keep up the amazing work!

David Gunson on Soviet ATC: "They have a super system there. When you want to fly from say Moscow to Leningrad, you are give three things: A height, a route and a speed. If you deviate from any of these three things you are joined by two MIG's on each wing and you land at the nearest available airfield. The passengers continue by coach, and the crew are never seen again. ... It's a super system, they don't get repetitive faults...

Beautiful scenery - might I ask the native (max) resolution of your monitor with the GTX460?

HD 1080p: 1920 x 1080 with 32 bit colour.

And the scenery everywhere in NZ is like this, just gorgeous. Now all I need is to find a few of my favourite airports for FSX and I'm really cooking. I used to live in Chch, so I hope I can find some more of the south Island airports besides the RealNZ FSX Wanaka.

Tell me about it. Although in my case it would be re-emigrating. I lived in Chch NZ until I turned 18.

Any suggestions as to Photo-real sceneries? I already have your and Creator2003's Christchurch. Oh and it's Niels. nalbers is just my usual login name.

Hello Niels , Flightsim.com , All 'Robin Corn' photo-real for starters , one superb one that works is 'Heath Wells' Hamner to the coast , then for very cheap payware Mikes 'Creator2003'' Tasman Scenery .
