Another "My Ten" Thread

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

How very difficult to choose ten images from thousands and then present them to one's peers for judgement... The thing is, most of my imagery is "sales blurb" for my own liveries, so not really worthy of presentation. Anyway, here are ten that I like - for various reasons.

1. Departing Anacortes in the Carenado Cessna 206. Not really a challenging image, it was just the angle I liked.

2. On short finals into Cairns. The huge eucalyptus trees do their bit here in this tower view.

3. Low flypast - Bell 412. This was an attempt at editing an otherwise fairly dull shot. I enjoyed the flight - as do I enjoy all low level stuff. I used this edit to convey the feel... I like it. winkyy.gif

4. Sunrise through the wings of a Tiger Moth. Dawn just happens to be my personal favourite time of day. Even in real life, dawn is a very calming and relaxing time for me.

5. Dusk is another photogenic time of day.

6. Approaching airfields under unfavourable conditions also makes for adventurous "feel in a picture. You know the airfield is ahead, but with poor viz, despite such full light conditions, you end up hoping that the GPS is pointing you the right way.

7. A low sun and Whittakers chocolate. This one was an unsuccessful entry for the NZFF header image comp - years ago again.

8. and 9. The FTX scenery (here PacNW) is so photogenic that it makes a great backdrop for any aircraft. Flying over it in such a beast as the B377 Guppy changes your perspective.

10. Another plane that is hard to make a mistake with is the Beaver. Even in silhouette, this plane is just so full of "character" you can't help but like it.

Now whether my pictures have done the planes and scenery here any justice, I refrain from saying, but the excercise was very thought provoking. I have so many more on my photobucket account too, but these ten were really enjoyable for me to rediscover. I hope you enjoyed them and thanks for looking in. Who knows which ten images would make my favourites list in, say, a year's time?

My votes go to #2 and #10!

I have to agree with your comments about the Beaver thumbup1.gif. I really ought to fly it more than I do. Trouble is, it has to compete with the Spit, the Dak, the Herc, the Islander, the Catalina ... the Cub ... More often than not I just give up and jump into the default C-172. Decision-making never was my strong point laugh.gif

Weeelll, the default 172 is quite nice to paint - if you go for high definition textures. Once she's in new clothes, she's more than pleasing winkyy.gif If you're curious, visit eagleskinner.com and look at my Misty Moorings repaints page winkyy.gif
