Dave , I do like the fast mover , but the old DC-3 for some reason will always win the competition ,

In Chuck Yeager,s book , a must buy for all you who require that Librairy , on testing the F20 Tigershark considered the best best general all rounder comparing it to the 16 and 18 at cost , even the RNZAF where looking at the type .. had production gone ahead i wonder if the fleet would have sold after looking at the A4 debacle .

Yep, the DC-3/C47 is a winner. Gets my vote, nice angle for the screenshot, clouds just right and an interesting background.

Which Yeager book do you have? Think I've read two. His squadron mate, Bud Anderson, wrote another good one.

My fave its, simply called 'Yeager' , the other 'The Right Stuff' a paperback , have a couple others about the subject and the man , but would like to get 'Clarence A' book , i ll have to source it out , as for Chuck , biggest pleasure was for me a quick word when he visited Wanaka , i had a Space Shuttle on display and he was chuffed how it was built .

Next day or during that week a media crew interviewed him , and typical - asked the stupid questions and one i recall so vivid was 'what it it like to shoot down a German aircraft' ole Chucky just about poked the interviewers eyes out

Yeager came from nowhere. I've flown into Hamlin WVA and, even in the seventies, it wasn't much. He was an ace before they gave him a commission so he started as a second lewie when his squadron mates already had silver bars or railroad tracks. He had the last laugh though. The big career cutoff is between Colonel and Brigadier General - Yeager got his star.

The chap is just one amazing person to read about , i think for me beats most not only for his WWII career but the continuation then to move into test flying when most are looking at retiring . Only other who gets into this cat would be Robin Old's .

Got the same book Ian, but "The Right Stuff" was also made into a movie, available on DVD.
I have it, and its well worth watching.............

Hells that Movie was so long ago the lot of them are amazing people , I wonder how they would take to Flightsim as we know it .
