Can't fail with a Vulcan ... or a Lightning ... but that TSR2 is in a class of its own. Great shot thumbup1.gif ... I see this must have been in your "cloud days" laugh.gif

Come to think of it, that TSR2 deserves to be in "The Splitpin Hall of Fame". If I can get in there before you post "well that'll be a small volume" ... it won't be!

I was surprised to see the RAF musuem in Hendon, London selling nuts and bolts from the scraped TSR2 for 50 pence each when I was there last month!

You would think anything from those aircraft, regardless of how small would be filed away......but i suppose as long as they have good examples of all the bits, then the extra parts can generate some funding. Trolly..Hendon is on my bucket list....

Superb - as always thumbup1.gif

You and I have the same tastes in period/aircraft. Put Duxford on your list too if you want to see the only surviving example of the TSR2 - ( Ooops - i forgot the other one at RAF Cosford )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHNftJUlYUc

AND if you haven't got a copy already I thoroughly recommend you read "Empire of the Clouds" by James Hamilton-Patterson. Its engaging and very well written - a mine of anecdotes and information about the post-war British aviation industry - its rise and fall. Cant recommend it enough!
