I notice of late in the NZ Flightsim Forums, that we are distinctly lacking in airliner pilots around here! But not to say I dislike seeing all the old classics, and warbirds, and modern military, but I am first and foremost an airliner fan. There is a time and place to just jump in something and soar through the clouds, but me personally I like 'working' with my planes. To tip the balance back towards this side of aviation, here are a few shots from my recent flight Auckland to Christchurch..

Today, operating NZ6113, is this Boeing 767-300 of Air New Zealand, on an early morning charter flight to take a Chinese tour group from Auckland to Christchurch.

"NZ6113 cleared for takeoff, runway 23L"

On the CLARK1A RNAV dep, climbing to 3000ft

Turning at CLARK, beginning the climb to FL380

Above the mess below, into crisp and clear blue skies above. Not much to see over the N.Is today, didn't even see Mt Taranaki (could be due to the Captain actually nodding off to sleep for 10 min)

Nelson in sight, and the great mountain scenery begins! (RealNZ Nelson disabled)

Magic details from from way up here! This is the way to see the country.

Magic x2

Magic x3

Avert your eyes Charl! The sun is bright in this one

Turning at BLUNTS - On the PEAKS3B arrival..

Christchurch in sight. Time to get busy

On the ILS for runway 20

Nearly there from the passenger view

Down safe, flight time today 1 hour 15 minutes runway to runway.

And at the gate. Another entry to my logbook. Another flight in pictures I won't forget.

I hope you enjoyed. Thanks.

Addons: Level D 767, Vector Landclass, freeware clouds and skies from various places. Most shots are unedited.

Thanks all. Don't often take screen shots in often boring far reaches of the world I frequent. But can't help nice shots here at home. For the record my journey home started in ksyr and to kjfk , katl , kslc, phnl ,nzaa, nzch. My sort of adventure :-)

That's my typical simming profile biggrin.gif I feel like flying around NZ? I'm currently in north eastern USA? Ok, how do I get there? Figure it out via scheduled means, then off I go.

This time:
KSYR-KJFK Jetblue A320
KJFK-KATL-KSLC Delta 757-200
KSLC-PHNL Delta 767-300
PHNL-NZAA-NZCH - Air NZ 767-300 (the NZAA-NZCH flight obviously an unscheduled photo flight!)

Haven't planned anything beyond chch yet. smile.gif
Cheers

Alister I see the topic is headed FSX but surely that is the FS9 Level-D 767?
If it is, come back...

For 10 bucks or so at SimMarket, wow I'm tempted to go get that Boeing and upgrade it!
I'd love to see more products like this.

Ooooo I do like that!
This is definitely the FSX Level D pictured, but I own both versions as I bought the FS9 first (day it came out) and then upgraded cheaply to the FSX version when it was released. I get such great performance out of the LDS in FSX (very FPS friendly) that I tend to mostly fly the FSX version now. (The ifly gives me a performance hit on FSX, so I mostly use that one FS9)

I also use a cockpit texture upgrade package in FS9 and FSX already, as the default VC is pretty average. But that's quite an impressive addon for the FS9 drivers to use! Looks AWESOME.
Thanks for letting me know.

End off the day , good to see its a Boeing , i very much miss the 767s as they used to come across Wobblyville in the N/Westers , 757s still pop in but hard to get a time-table on them .
