ORBX NZNI expected this month

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby toprob » Thu Jul 19, 2012 1:08 pm

Well, I can't fault the Manukau Harbour shots. I'd be happy to use a scenery that looks like that.
Oh, wait, I do...

First preview shots now posted on the Orbx forum. Looks like were going to be spoiled with quite a number of photoreal areas to enhance this upcoming addon.

I'm just a casually interested bystander...The site throws a hissy fit when I click that link.
Last time I looked, I had registered to their forums.
Is there some qualification I am lacking?

Maybe someone from Orbx might want to post some of the preview screenshots here, so that anyone can see them.
(Well, when I say 'here' I mean the Screenshot subforum.)

Yes I do think posting a screenshot here would be somewhat more informative than providing a link that shows:

Other option is to go to airdailyX.com Orbx seems to be sending them updates.

Just join the forum. It is free but some may be too patriotic to do so. Other option is to go to airdailyX.com Orbx seems to be sending them updates.

Thanks for that.
By the way, I think the point Charl was making was that he is logged in.

I found that I had to click on the "intro" forum link and do a post there - I just posted "hi". Then I logged out, logged back in, and all was go.

Charl, If you check that message that is there for you you'll probably find it's a welcome message asking you too verify your acc by basically doing what Island boy says, after that you should be sweet. smile.gif

Thats why I edited my post as I did go back and read others comments again realising that others were have difficulties getting access even after joining. Funny how some are and others arn't.
After viewing the balloons over waikato pics, NZNI will put me in a conundrum, The views of the greater waikato area look great but as everyone knows when you fly over your home town, nothing beats photo imagery. Thinking I will be swaping between NZNI and deault FSX with VLC and Mikes awsome hamilton scenery for my home town flying.

Gosh arent we spoilt for such a small country to have a big sim company like ORBX take so much time for a 'small' market (?). Cant wait to go screaming around Lake Waikaremoana and Ruatahuna....

We are not the market they care about, Its the international sim community they are trying to woo. 99% of the comments on their forums reguarding anything NZ are from anyone but NZ'ers. NZ scenery does seem to appeal to simmers that have traveled here in person and why not?? Its such a diverse landscape. Has a bit of everything and not far to go in any one direction. Its a simmers dream scenery really.
