I'd be surprised if AirNZ have the time to receive thousands of applications from fresh CPL holders with no/minimal multi-IFR experience. Probably worth applying however. The upside of all this regional recruitment means a lot of 135 jobs going anyway.
Same ad as on Air NZ website although is a bit weird no min hrs listed?
First Officer - Air New Zealand Regional Airlines
Your Journey starts here….
Our three Regional airlines are regularly looking for new pilots to fly their turboprop fleets. Entry is always at First Officer level and positions are located at a number of bases around the country, from Kerikeri to Christchurch. Whether you are looking for a career flying props or a pathway to our jet fleet, this is a great point of entry.
Mount Cook Airlines, Air Nelson and Eagle Airways operate domestic routes on the Air New Zealand Link Network. Here, you'll find yourself in the right hand seat of an ATR72, Dash 8 Q300 or Beech1900D.
We are currently recruiting roles across the group and invite applications from suitably qualified pilots. Selection for positions is done in Christchurch by Assessment Centre over 2 days. If your application is successful, our Talent Sourcing team will be in touch to invite you to one of our assessments.
To be considered as a Pilot within our Regional Fleet we require applicants to have:
NZCAA CPL, preferably with some ATPL subjects completed, NZCAA MEIR, BGT, NACAA Class 1 Medical
Note: To complete this application, you will need to refer to your logbook, license(s) and medical information. Applications will only be accepted from NZ Residents and Citizens and are not able to offer sponsorships or any assistance with immigration.
Please click the apply now button to submit your application. Applications are only accepted through the online registration. Enquiries can be sent to pilot.recruitment@airnz.co.nz

benwynn wrote:QUOTE (benwynn @ Oct 14 2012,11:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cheers for that HamiltonWest, I did have a look on the Airnz site also to find the ad. My point being, would you really be happy with 200 hour pilots flying you around on an ATR? Realistically, you probably wouldn't know. But I'd be surprised if Air New Zealand allowed it to happen.
I doubt they'd take low hour pilots on the ATR, but they have taken 200hr CPLs before on the Beech. Not many, but definitely worth a shot!
(Part 121 vs Part 125 is the big difference!)
benwynn wrote:QUOTE (benwynn @ Oct 14 2012,1:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I have heard of 2 CTC guys going to Eagle with lowish hours, not sure how close to 200 or not. Really, the only crew differences between 121 and 125 is the PIC requirements? As a pilot, I'm sure you'd be happy flying anything in the link fleet. But with low experience, flying difficult approaches (nearly all non-precision) into small airports in generally poor conditions with no autopilot and limited experience would probably be more difficult than flying one of Dash 8s or ATRs, in my opinion. I believe Air New Zealand mirrors this opinion with their previous recruitment. A lot (definitely not in all cases) flying instructors with limited ATO experience have gone into Cook and Nelson, where as the 135/ATO multi-IFR pilots go into Eagle.
That's true, but it is two pilot ops, so should be considerably easier than going it alone would be. I would be happy with anything to be honest! Haha I suppose the no autopilot would be a bit frustrating, as beinf an FO you would then become the Autopilot while Mr Cap'n does all the work, or vice versa. I believe both the CTC cadets went straight from CTC to Eagle, and instructors from CTC have gone to all 3 but the ones with 1000+ hrs don't want Eagle, and seem to prefer the career possibilities with the other two. (They just want the money that an Eagle Cap'n can't quite get!)
