Lots of progress today on the Air Macchi . Front fuse out of the cradle, and onto the stands, and the Stbd wing attached.....and the other bits out of the 40 footer.

Tip tanks in the container (and other bits ...jet pipe, elevator ....and , a dehumidifier)

Tip tanks.

Random work.

Even more random.

The viper ....in a body bag.

where the viper will live.

And work carrys on, on the P-40.

Im not there again until tuesday, so I'll update you again then .... hope its of some interest.

Great pics... isn't it funny how BIG the fuselage looks, off the ground?
They stand knee high to a cricket normally, so seem much smaller somehow.

True Charl .... at the moment she is standing a little above the normal height . Once the wheels are down and can support her , things will look normal.

So I've obviously missed the conversation surrounding the 'machi: what's the story there? Restoration to display or flying status? I wonder how the humidifier was listed on the aircraft parts sheet...

Reminds me of seeing a diagram of one of the old 1419 cheque sorters we used at Databank back in the '80's. There's a part listed as "AMD" (well before AMD was known for CPUs - probably before they even existed). I asked the tech what an AMD was - he looks at me like I'm a complete noddy and says "Fan, of course". So I does the obvious and asks "Ok, but what does AMD stand for?". He rolls his eyes and says "Air movement device". Only IBM could come up with a 3 letter acronym for something that was already 3 letters long...

Display Pete. It is complete , and it could fly , with some work.....and lots of money.... but just dispaly.
The dehum was an extra(but was used while the box was sealed) .... we also got a few extra skyhawk bits.

The Kittyhawk is progressing quite well i was in Nzch visiting my grandparents in 2011 and went there, the kitty hawks is coming along quite nice . Quick question hows the Vickers Vilderbeast coming along or have you not progressed much since you did the gunners seat.

That is a really complex job (Vickers) . You wont notice much change , because its lots of little jobs ...i can get some pictures of it next week if you like.

The P-40 is coming along , to be honest, it never seems to change (to me) but again, they are doing lots of little things...and then it all comes together .

The Vilderbeast is on hold because waiting for group in the UK that may have further information , fact is the current fuselage frame is rebuilt from what was left of the original and there are simply no plans or much left of the type anywhere in the world .

No sorry I meant Vildebeest at Dairy Flat (or near it - Subritzky's own it) ...the Macchi in Tauranga is a exRNZAF and there has been some talk of it flying one day if that is poosible

, there is very limited - well no real difference between a Vincent/Vildebeest .. one light bomber and other maritime and that's in the NZ

It must be a Museum thingy - one dose not want the other to have .. or its the ..

Well if i had millions which sadly i don't i would buy that Vincent and and give it to Wiggers just to annoy the poms , but in the contract it would say they can never sell it.
