I have been getting really pissed of with my old key board (logitech Mk250) when i got it i didnt notice there was no light for num and caps...... anyway, zipped into dick smith today to be told (when asking about a board with the lights) " im pretty sure they dont do THAT anymore" WTH!! and none of their stock had what i wanted.

Off to harvey norman .... same story, unless i wanted some butt ugly thing made in outer mongolia ..... ok , global pc .... same.
To cut it short , i ended up with a new microsoft wireless board and mouse (no lights) but i do "AES 128-BIT Encryption" via the transceiver .... GREAT!! i just wanted the bloody lights ...oh well rolleyes.gif

A little technique which could be useful in this case, if you have windows 7 or 8 - not sure about XP but it is probably there too.

1. Go to Control Panel, select:
  • 'Ease of Access Centre'
  • 'Make the keyboard easier to us'
  • Select 'Turn on Toggle Keys'
When you press caps lock or num lock you will hear a tone - low tone to turn it on, high tone to turn it off. This isn't quite as good as a LED but does help a bit.

Just remembered that there was a better option called Tray Status which shows indicators on the task bar for Num lock and/or Caps lock. Works nicely, unless you keep your taks bar hidden like I do!!

Ha ha, well it's not so much knowing as remembering what I've seen (too much time playing around with computers over the years) and then relying on the good old internet to help me find it again!
