Oh yess... of all the parts on an aircraft, the gear surely has the toughest job!
Wings spread their load evenly along the span, fuselage is carefully loaded between stringers, but Wheels!
Bang! from zero to 140 knots in an instant! maybe 400 tonnes of weight suddenly transferred!
You'd better be up to the task...

Love that maingear 777 truck.
What a marvel of pneumatics, massively strong rough casting, and precision machined pistons!
It steers, too.
I remember when the Meljet model arrived in flightsim, proudly displaying Those Hoses; I knew this was a hobby with Reward!

This will be a bookmark thread to come back and drool, for sure.

I really enjoy these types of component shots .... sometimes you dont need to see the whole aircraft , well done .
