Spent the evening taking the Flight1 Bongo from MF to QN to inspect the new FTX install.

Season set to summer, time to late afternoon, route is the standard sight seeing return leg flown at 7500 VFR via Lake Adelaide, the Hollyford Valley, and then the Caples River mouth to cross Lake Wakatipu.

I love the level of detail the three Orbx addons come together to create, the immersion factor is just brilliant!

Nice shots.
This is my current sight-seeing aircraft at the moment, and this week I've done a few great flights on the West Coast (Westport to Queenstown via FJ and Wanaka), with NZSI active, although I don't have FTX MF or QN. I've been learning the features of the KLN-90 GPS, and haven't got lost once:)

Cheers guys (interesting to see most the 'original' NZFF members posting here!).

Yep Paul, if you have a browse on PPrune, Bongo seems to be the Aussie nickname for the BN2. A good guide for flying them can be found here, you really have to lean the mixture quite a way back to get good performance out the engines.

Not a fan of the KLN-90 Robin, or anything that isn't a G430 or G1000 for that matter. Looked outside all the way for this one!

Thanks Marty, can't really go wrong with the photoreal/mesh combo in the Wakatipu basin!

After a further look at the Queenstown area VNC, it turns out I was actually flying the reverse of the MF-QN route. The broken light blue lines instruct outbound traffic to go northwest over Lake Luna, and inbound traffic to fly southeast past Mount Nic Station. Whoops!
