Walking wounded

Jeez .... Ive done my back in sad.gif or my hip , or some damm thing. I can hardly walk , cant get in the car ... took me 10 minutes to put my socks on after a shower this arvo.
Ej (Yob) called this afternoon for a chat , and He's as bad as me .... ligaments in his knee are gone , and he cant walk dry.gif Ive turned down a weeks work because of it (me , not Ej), and I'm off to the vet in the morning, and the expense involved there.... $50 to tell me what i know ..... and feel... but best to get it checked.
All this , and the old man is not good again .... bleeding from where you dont want to bleed from .... i hope the medics can fix that for the poor old fella. Its a shame , both my folks are as sharp as tacks , but the bods are failing them ... and that drags them down.
I feel real bad when i cant get over to see them (only 10mins away) ... but i just cant at the moment. I reckon I'll be right by saturday and then I'll be over for a gin smile.gif

Its strange, for years and years they (parents) are there for you, and all of a sudden their 80+ , and not to good .... Im heading for 60 , and not 100%..... its like going from high school to an old folks home in a week. Very odd indeed...But...
You look up to them for so long .... and then your looking across at them .... all old.
I dont feel my age , i never have (until this week dry.gif ) i still enjoy my hobbies (Art, Aviation and Architecture ) .... and my "action figures" winkyy.gif

Not sure what Im trying to say .... sorry .... its been an odd day.

This can only end one of two ways. You're either getting put down, or your getting neutered...

Hmmm tempting, but the other way does issue a more entertaining scenario.. I must ponder this over some beers...

oh yeah, been there. Result was 3 lots of surgery on my back and now full of titanium. All I did was attempt to put my right sock on!

Whatever you did, don't do it ever again and don't twist!

Ouch, you paint a vivid picture... And here I was moaning yesterday because I had to go to the doctor, and pay my $44, for no reason except that if I don't go twice a year they won't give me my heart medication.

And I suspect you are right, the trip to the doc is probably not going to help much, unless they are in the habit of giving good pain-killers...

Take it easy.

Lots of understanding and sympathy - I have had a bad back (self-inflicted) and even ten years down the track I still have to be careful - a few months ago I nearly put it out again, just reaching into the fridge for the water bottle. Hadn't even lifted it, but I felt the back going, and froze just in time...
Only thing to come close was an attack of gout in my left big toe, coinciding with a massive crick in my neck - added a whole new dimension to driving my manual Holden HZ wagon around, I can tell you.

Thanks for the advice etc guys .... just to add insult to injury, i got an email ! telling me my job is over at the end of the month. After 2 years and endless call outs , no weekends etc, i thought a warning phone call may have been nice ....ahhhh the corporate world .

There are other contracts coming up , and i knew this one would end ... but not until november . Im in two minds now , do i hang around and wait , or look to other outfits.
To be honest any feelings of loyalty are pretty thin at the moment.
Back is no better .... still limping around the bloody place .... if i sit , i cant get up .... etc .... in short, not very happy at the moment.
God forbid someone pisses me off tonight .... good thing the ammo for the 308 is 5k away .
