Strangely they had one and it displayed at the Warbirds over Wanaka 1994, course in civilian cloths, was use as a tree extract or so I was told, never heard much of after then, but it was impressive to see and displayed.

The guy had two of them doing ag work in the North Island. One crashed and burnt out but I cant remember what happened to the other one. As for it being ugly... it's ugly in the same way a Phantom is ugly. It's ugly enough to be beautiful.

A well known aviation writer published the word ugly in the first sentence when the Phantom was retired from the USAF.

With the S-55/H-19, they had a good idea putting the radial engine in the nose for ease of maintenance.
