Not sure about this one (A-10 over AKL)

Ive been messing around with Google earth and fsx , and found that there are some wonderful things you can do with the two .
Im just not sure about the legal aspect ... so this shot may have to be removed , and if thats the case i will.
But on good advise , i have left all the text on the shot (Google etc) in place , and there is no "pinpics" thing.
The shot itself is not that great , very much a proof of concept ... anyway , here we go.......... unsure.gif

Would be great if there was a "Google Earth Live" that we could fly over...

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Splitpin, that shot is brilliant, if only we could legally supper impose some aircraft on secenery images. I am from the 1950 time frame in Auck and used to have to make way for the Teal Sunderland flying boats taking off from Mechanics bay and the last of the Catalinas. Even dear old Fred Ladd in his Grummond
Widgeon use to rattle us young dare devil boaties as we dragged off the Vehicle ferries down the harbour under spinnaker. Imagine a superimposed Teal Sunderland pulling out of Mechanics bay on your image .that would bring a rush of blood to the heart for this old fella.
Keep plodding on with the concept there is some merit in what you are doing.

One era I missed out on was the seeing the Sunderlands Solents and Sandringhams, just lucky some wise people brought in a Catalina and was lucky to see that flown on and off Lake Wanaka.

ASH ..... Thanks for looking , not sure how long it will last, but i would love to improve your circulation with a TEAL boat lifting off the bay.
Give it a few days winkyy.gif and I'll see what i can do.
Thanks for looking.

Can you say more about this "proof of concept" for those, like me, that are very interested but need more of an overview? Are you using FS Earth or is this different? How are you displaying the AC within GE? Sorry if its a dumb question...

Cheers

Kieth , its a photo-shop edit, you can cut and past aircraft to any photo or do any photo edit.

Just as Ian said ..... the hard part for me is matching the lighting on the aircraft with the time of day (in the main screen) , where to place it , how big .... but i love it .
For a straight screener like me , this is magic .... i can live with the google logo's.
