Interesting times...

Postby emfrat » Thu Feb 19, 2015 6:52 pm

Well, there is plenty of food, enough coolant, and even if it does flood and cut off the town, we can still walk to the pub - we have a choice of two for about 400 residents.

We will get the fringe of it, so there will be heavy rain, and a flood is likely, although I expect the 'normal' knee-deep one, not the chest-deep one of 2011.
Very unusual to get a cyclone so far south this late in the season, and of course Cat 5 is really exceptional - folk in Central Qld will be hit hard.

Strange thing here Mike, the weather .. normally we get good electrical storms but this year has been a fizzler .. I'm not keen on knee deep come to think chess deep water but I do like watching the storms roll in.

Might fire up the An-2 and practice my flying backwards skills

Seems to be heading out to sea again. On the radar, my place is on the horizontal axis, below the M of Marburg and a bit to the left of the A in Amberley.
(But you won't see me, cos I've got my tinfoil hat on :nahnah: )
