Whale Island

Postby toprob » Tue Jul 21, 2015 1:41 pm

I do have various little scenery areas which kind of accumulate while I'm looking at various ideas, and one of these is Whale Island, which was maybe going to be included in the Subscription BOP, but then again maybe not...

My screenshot comp entry this month (the Endeavour) shows Whale Island, and it had crossed my mind that this could benefit from a good mesh. I'd completely forgotten about Tim's Whale Island with 5 metre mesh, so I 'borrowed' the mesh for these screenshots.

By the way, I wasn't entirely happy with my Endeavour screenshot, mainly because of the mesh -- I had FTX NZNI active at the time, and this tends to clip the coastline a bit, I can understand why that is a good idea for landclass scenery, but it doesn't always work well with photoscenery. I have been meaning to redo the shot with VLC active, which is better because the coastlines are more accurate. So I have a couple of options for a 'killer' screenshot...

BUT, since then, I have managed to get the Endeavour working in Prepar3D, so that's another option. Although at the moment I'm 'inbetween licenses', that awkward period when I can't afford to renew my Prepar3D license for another month...
