Today in Aviation history 16 Nov 1920

Queensland And Northern Territory Air Services is founded.

Today the world’s third oldest airline (behind KLM + Avianca) celebrated its 95th birthday by unveiling its latest ‘retro livery’ jet.

The Boeing 737-800 called ‘Retro Roo II’ is painted in vintage Qantas jet livery based on the design from its 1959 fleet.

In 1959 the Boeing 707 was the first jet air craft that Qantas put into service.
