A Mosquito! The new JF version.

Overall, I *do* like it. Hard to resist such a handsome aircraft anyway. I managed to dig out some other twin Merlin sound set from my archive. Sounds much better.

The exterior modelling/lighting is great, though the VC (good as it is) isn't quite up to the JF Canberra quality ... not sure why ... maybe something to do with the shading.

It's on offer for a week or thereabouts, so hide your credit card!

Great shots Adam ... but , do you think theres something missing/ lacking on that exterior ?
Ive looked at it over and over , the stand out for me is lack of reflection on all that canopy glazing ... but theres something else , and i cant pin it down ... but no problem.
Great shots .

I think it's simply a [relative] lack of bump mapping detail. Comparing apples with oranges here, but you can zoom right into individual rivets in the A2A Texan/Harvard and you see the aluminium is slightly depressed/distorted. At any level of zoom in the T-6, you're presented with an astounding level of detail. It's a joy to look at. There's a repainters' thread on A2A where people are mixing their W.I.P. repaints with RL pics: it's a struggle to tell them apart.

Is suppose you pays yer money and you gets what what paid for. Having said that, I've found the Mossie grows on you. The VC is pretty good and, once you've added the freeware sound pack, the exterior sounds are far more convincing. Having seen Jerry Yagen's Mossie a lot at Ardmore, that sound is hard to forget.

Curiously, the sound pack for the A2A Harvard is also quite "tame" - and certainly hasn't got that distinct Harvard "propeller thrash" that we all know and love.

I'd say *stick with it* - it's still pretty damn' good!

Be interesting to see later updates, both are simple gorgeous and both RNZAF course the recent real Mossie build .. I wonder if those guys have tried Flight Simulator ?
