Postby Fozzer » Thu May 05, 2016 7:56 pm

Poor buggers are having it rough up in Canada at the moment!

Buildings and trees don't mix well together!

What a disaster!

Having spent the last 16+ years daily Sim Flying, and following the daily news, of the whole of the USA Pacific South West, particularly California, it never fails to amaze me the fascination that Americans have to place their buildings, etc, nestling amongst trees and foliage!

I have watched the various devastating Wildfires in South Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada, Sonoma and Napa Valley, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles Valley, etc.....

Every one of the forest fires totally destroying all the buildings amongst the dense trees!
It makes no sense to me to construct property in amongst TREES!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_C ... _wildfires

I follow each of these events on the USA news, and then fire up my Flight Sim and traverse the areas to view the scenery.

It is obvious, viewed from the air, that each of the locations were/are unsuitable for placing buildings there without clearing the area first of trees and vegetation!

The Americans love building their new house surrounded by tall trees, knowing that there is a wildfire season every year capable of destroying their property!

...and most of their housed are made of....wood!

...crazy!.... ...!

I have a few very small shrubs in my back garden which are kept well clipped!
...and residents Bonfires/Chimney fires are illegal!

Paul.....Fire away!.... :wink2: ...!

Yeah, still a few of them flying around. I think it's the engines that have kept them in service

Its Hell on Earth!..... ....>>>

I still cant get over the illusion that Canada, in the far North, for me, is a very cold place, constantly buried under ice and snow!..... :o ...!

Its so far away from the heat and desert of the South/South-west USA!

A terrible thing, Fire, when it gets out of human control!

Paul.... :( ....!
